Many people have this idea that when working from home all you need is a laptop and you’re good to go. Then you can lounge on the couch serenely or lean carelessly on the kitchen counter and snack every 10 minutes or so, all while working with a big smile on your face. Monitor, keyboard and mouse 

A laptop stand might cut it if you’re going to work from home every now and then, but if this is going to turn into a long-term affair like it did when the pandemic took over the world, you must bring out (or better said purchase) the big guns. Get acquainted with the holy trinity of work from home gear: monitor, keyboard and mouse. It might not seem like much, but believe us, these devices will make a world of a difference. Office chair

Since you’re going to spend so many hours in front of your computer, you better make sure you’re standing on a comfortable chair. And by that we don’t mean stacking a few pillows on a dining table chair like a lot of people do in an attempt to improvise. No, you should skip skimping here and go for an ergonomic office chair that offers you the right support while you work away. Otherwise you’re bound to experience neck and back pain at one point or another and remember this is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to health issues associated with poor posture. 

Standing desk 

When your office is just a few steps away from your bedroom, you can easily become a bit of a sloth. If the only physical activity you do is making repeated trips to the kitchen to grab something to eat, you might want to do something about it. A standing desk is a great way to add a little movement into the equation while working. It might not replace a fitness routine, but at least you won’t sit down for hours on end until you turn into a statue. Your house might not offer you the calm and peaceful environment you require to focus on your daily work tasks. When working remotely, you’re probably going to conduct most of your activity over the internet. From sending and receiving emails to video conferences, a lot of your daily tasks will rely on your internet connection. The last thing you want is to be in the middle of an important video call and miss important information because the internet connection keeps cutting out. That’s why you should consider upgrading your current internet plan to enjoy better speed and rest assured you won’t be sidetracked by any technical issues while working. 

Conference speaker 

If your job involves taking on the phone a lot (and many jobs do), you’re probably sick and tired of holding your phone to your year. It just keeps your hands busy while you could use them for other tasks. Sure, you could use the speaker feature on your smartphone, but we all know it won’t be of much help. The better option is to buy a conference speaker and place it on your desk, so you can put an end to the struggle and have far more pleasant conversations over the phone in the future.
